A New Direction for Musiterania
Hi there, everybody — Timothy here from Musiterania.com.
I’m recording this so I can turn it into a blog post, because sometimes the clearest ideas come when you just start talking.
Musiterania is taking a slightly new direction. Not a drastic one — more of a refinement. For now, I’m focusing primarily on classical music and acoustic music — music that isn’t plugged in. That’s the starting point. That’s the foundation I know best.
Over the past months, I’ve been to Cincinnati. Nashville Opera. The Louisville Orchestra. Paducah. And every one of these venues has reminded me of something important: the level of artistry happening across this country is extraordinary.
These halls, these orchestras, these opera companies — they deserve attention.
So one of my goals is to begin posting and organizing events more broadly — eventually nationwide — to help promote the cause of classical music across the United States, and ultimately around the world.
Making Concert Halls Destinations
On my last trip to Europe, I had planned to visit the great cathedrals of France. Unfortunately, I got sick, and that plan never materialized. But the idea stuck with me.
Those cathedrals are destinations.
And in a way, our modern concert halls are too.
Many of the new facilities in the United States are architecturally and acoustically compelling. They are cultural landmarks. Why not make them destinations in their own right? Why not spark people’s curiosity about attending live classical concerts — not just as an event, but as an experience?
I’d like to help position these venues as places worth traveling to. Worth planning around. Worth discovering.
And I want Musiterania to become a recognizable brand that champions musicians — especially classical musicians — while remaining open to other genres as the platform grows.
Classical music is what I know. It’s what I understand deeply. But I would love to expand and collaborate with others who can contribute coverage in other musical styles as the site develops.
Moving Forward
The goal now is simple:
Develop Musiterania thoughtfully.
Make it stronger.
Make it better known.
And contribute, in whatever way possible, to the cause of music.
That’s the direction.
And I’m excited about it.
